│ Just like with PlayStation 5, Video Chums utilizes an SSD on our server to deliver lightning-fast page load times. There's also a strong story that needs some maturity to understand.Reviewed by Mary Billington playing a PS5 on Ma□️Įxplore tropical environments inspired by the islands of New Caledonia and experience life as a young girl on a quest to save her father. Some lateral thinking and creativity are also needed to make use of being able to take control of different objects in the game to solve the environmental puzzles. Younger players need to be able to navigate the large island location. Still, it's important for parents and guardians to consider the maturity required to process the game content. There is a scene where you press and hold a button to get the young protagonist to kiss her girl friend and fall in love.ĩ+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. They then magically remove the baby from them and you see them eat it - although there is no blood and the actual moment the camera cuts away. There is a scene where the baddie has a family restrained in a cage. The dialogue in the game remains the same. Note that in some instances you may still see dismemberment but not the related generated blood effects. Blood is removed and some cutscenes are replaced by stylized 2D renditions of the action with less detail. The game provides a Family Mode setting that automatically makes some of the more violent or graphic scenes in the game suitable for the whole family. Rated Parent Guidance (PG) for Mild Violence, Scary Scenes, and Mild Crude Humour. Younger children may find these scenes unsettling. Additionally, the chicken's headless body is seen running around and the severed hand is seen 'walking' across the ground. While the severing of the hand and the head are not shown, there is some sight of wounds afterwards. At one point a man loses a hand and a chicken loses its head. There is a sequence in which a character makes an offensive 'middle finger' gesture. There are also scenes showing people apparently being swallowed by a monster. While some blood is seen on the baby's blankets, no injury detail or actual harm is shown. Rated PEGI 12 for moderate violence and use of offensive gestures, including a man slashing at a baby with a knife and then throwing it. This is extended by fantastical elements but even these are rooted in local landscapes, flora and fauna, music, languages, folklore and traditions of the territory. The result is a heartfelt adventure with a world, story and characters deeply embedded in New Caledonia culture. You can also unlock melodies as you explore the world and trigger special events like attracting animals or triggering rainfall. You play along at key story moments during rhythm sections. The ukulele not only offers musical accompaniment but is a useful tool throughout the game. Like the tricks, you can learn to play the ukulele and find a flashlight, slingshot, compass and camera. In this simulated world, there are specific things you can discover and learn. Likewise, sailing your customizable boat requires you to work with the physics of the water and wind. Climbing, for instance, lets you ascend anything in the world whether that's a mountain, house or tree. It's physics-driven, with weather and day-night cycles, so many of the things you do will emerge as you play in the world. You might become a bird to fly high over the island, or a fish to discover what's in the rivers and sea, or perhaps a dog to sniff out treasure.Īs you progress you discover more of the world and learn tricks to pull off stunts and dives. As you do you take on their unique gameplays and abilities to travel, solve puzzles and uncover secrets. You get around by becoming (and controlling) the hundreds of animals and objects you find in the world. Play involves exploring the world, meeting people and helping them with missions. It stands out for the surprisingly quirky and funny storybook playfulness and New Caledonia culture that create a compelling and endearing experience. Along with the usual sandbox quests and play the game offers an unusual ability to take control (and become) any animal or object you can find. Tchia is an adventure where you play a young girl (Tchia) who can climb, glide, swim, and sail around a beautiful archipelago.
